English-Language Media Coordinator

People in Need (PIN) is the largest non-profit organization in Central and Eastern Europe working in the areas of humanitarian aid and development, human rights and social counselling. We have been active for over 30 years and are present in over 40 countries around the world.

About the role:

We are looking for a full-time English-Language Media Coordinator based in Prague who would be responsible for creating the content on our English-language social media platforms, proofreading English-language and coordinating the volunteer translation of content in languages including, but not limited to, English and Czech.

Your main duties and responsibilities would include:

  • Updating our global social media channels (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube);
  • working closely with the Head of English Content to ensure that all published material (both internal and external) is clear and concise;
  • coordinating all volunteer translators (for languages, including but not limited to, English, Czech, Portuguese, French, Arabic, Spanish and German);
  • supporting colleagues from the Media and Communication departments, as well as occasionally addressing requests from also departments both at HQ and from various Country Programmes abroad.

Requirements

Suitable candidates for this position should be able to demonstrate:

  • Native English language proficiency is required (speaking and writing at a C2-level);
  • a working knowledge of Czech is also a great advantage;
  • previous experience working with social media;
  • the ability to create original content, write and proofread text, and select and edit various photos and videos.
  • the ideal candidate should be knowledgeable about modifying content as necessary to meet the requirements of various social media channels.
